Service Changes

All services have returned to regular hours as listed on the website. Some routes remain impacted by local construction; please pay close attention to this page’s short-term and long-term deviation sections to stay informed of changes to your route. Route updates have officially launched. If you have questions please call 509-525-9140.

Special Services

(typically community events with auxiliary public transit services)

If you need a bus ride from the airport, call Valley Transit between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, or 10:45 am and 6:00 pm on Saturday. Call us at 509-527-3779, and we’ll send the next Route 1 or West Loop bus to pick you up. This works well with the flights that arrive and depart in the middle of the day. If your flight falls before or after those hours listed above, the bus won’t be available, so you’ll need to take a taxi or use a service like Uber instead.

Current Short-Term Rider Alerts

On Friday Night and all Day Saturday, 9/5/25-9/6/25, The East and West Loop buses will deviate around Wheelin’ Walla Walla. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off on Rose Street north of the Transit Center, and buses returning to the Transit Center will use Poplar Street instead of Main Street.

Bus Basics

Arrive at your stop a few minutes early. We have bus stop signs in most places throughout our system. As an added help to the drivers, please flag the bus (wave at the driver) as it approaches. Signs on the top front of the bus above the windshield tell you the name of the route. Please refer to the system map for detailed maps and schedules.

For areas outside of the downtown corridor, that do not have bus stop signs, you can “flag stop” the bus. To request a flag stop, please wait for the bus at a location where you can easily be seen by the driver, and in an area the bus can safely pull to the curb without blocking traffic. Learn more about flag stops here. As the bus approaches, make sure to signal to the driver by waving. Please wait for the bus to make a complete stop and open the front door.

If you need to transfer, our drivers will be happy to inform your next bus as they approach the Transfer Center.

Out of consideration for our senior and disabled riders, please leave the seats in the forward section of the bus available.

Routes, Maps and Schedules

As the bus approaches your stop, signal the driver that you want off by pulling the cord located above or along the windows. Please allow the driver plenty of notice, at least half a block, so that they may make a smooth, safe stop.

When getting off the bus we ask you to de-board through the rear exit to allow our boarding passengers entry through the front door.

Please refrain from smoking, littering and consumption of food or drink on the bus. This results in a more pleasant and enjoyable ride for everyone. Animals, other than service animals, must be kept in an approved pet carrier.

Valley Transit Fixed Routes operates from 6:15 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Frequency & Accessibility

Most routes have bus service every thirty minutes and two neighborhood routes are run each hour.

Weekday service begins at 6:15 am and ends at 5:45 pm.
A smaller Flex-Route service that is more appropriate for periods of lower demand operates on weekdays from 5:45 pm to 9:10 pm, and on Saturday running from 10:45am to 6:15pm.
The bus system is closed each Sunday and some holidays, more holiday closure information is here.
The Job Access program for work transportation operates every day.
