Valley Transit Fare System

Fares & Passes

Valley Transit operates zero-fare transit on multiple mode, paid for by Move Ahead Washington funds. The general public will have zero-fare on Fixed Route, Dial-a-Ride, Deviated Fixed Route, and Connector. Those 19 and older will still have a fare to pay for Job Access and Vanpool/Rideshare services.

For services that maintain a fare structure, Valley Transit can accept monthly passes and pre-purchased digital tickets through the Token Transit app, and pre-purchased gift certificates. All fare types are purchasable at the Administration building at 1401 West Rose Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Gift certificates may only be purchased and redeemed at the Administration building. Our drivers do not sell any passes or tickets on board the vehicle, and cannot accept a gift certificate.

Cash Fare

There is currently no cash fare collected as most modes are under the Zero-Fare Program. Job Access requires a monthly pass, and Vanpool/Rideshare services have a separate fare collection process.

Senior / Disabled (with a Reduced Fare Permit)

At this time most modes are a zero-fare service, and Job Access does not offer a reduced fare pass.

Passes

Job Access passes are available for unlimited rides during a calendar month for $12. Passes are available in Walla Walla from our Main Office at 1401 W. Rose Street and on Token Transit.

Token Transit

Token Transit is an app that allows a user to use their phone to pay for transit tickets and passes. Download the app at https://www.tokentransit.com/app. For more information contact Valley Transit at 509-525-9140. Prior to purchasing your first Job Access pass on Token Transit you must coordinate with Valley Transit staff to unlock this option in the app for you.

Dial-A-Ride

At this time Dial-a-Ride is a zero-fare service.

Special Transportation Needs (STN)

Washington State defines special transportation needs as a person who does not drive because of age, ability or income. At this time a special fare for this demographic has been suspended due to the Zero-fare Program.

Job Access

Job Access passes are available for $12 per calendar month and provide people enrolled in the Job Access program with transportation to and from work from 5:00am to 11:30pm. Between 6:15 am and 8:45 pm this is accomplished through the use of regular transportation services such as Fixed Route and Dial-a-Ride.

Ticket Booklets

Due to the Zero-fare Program the use of tickets and ticket booklets has been suspended.

Gift Certificates

Valley Transit Gift Certificates are available for purchase and redeemable ONLY at the main office located at 1401 W. Rose Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362. They can be purchased in increments of $10, $12, $15, or $20. Gift certificates EXPIRE ONE YEAR after issue. They can be redeemed for pass or ticket purchases only, and have no cash value. Cash or personal checks are accepted; no credit or debit cards please.
